After Olduvai, you will travel to Serengeti National Park, whose name comes from the Masai word siringiti, which means “endless plains.” You can see why the Masai gave this region its name, as the grassland savannah in the south extends to the horizon and is interrupted only by the so-called Kopjes (rock outcrops), which resemble an island in a sea of grass. After arriving at the day’s destination in the afternoon, you will continue traveling around the Seronera Valley in the central Serengeti region until sunset.
