Day 1 – Arusha – Lake Manyara

Pick up from Arusha ready for 5 Day Camping Safari and transfer to Lake Manyara national park.
We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and after lunch do we head into the Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive. This national park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.

Dinner and overnight at HKH Safari Lodge Full board included

Day 2 – Lake Manyara – Serengeti Plains

After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park.
Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Campsite

Day 3 – Serengeti Plains

Begin with an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari over the Serengeti Plains, offering stunning views and unique wildlife sightings (available at extra cost). After breakfast, enjoy a game drive along the Sogore River Circuit, known for lions, gazelles, cheetahs, and ostriches. Visit the Seronera Visitor Centre, featuring wildlife displays, a gift shop, and shaded picnic spots under acacia trees. In the afternoon, explore the Kopjes Circuit, a haven for lions and wildlife in the dry season, with granite outcrops providing water and shade. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the Serengeti Campsite.

Day 4 – Serengeti Plains – Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at the historic Olduvai Gorge, where Drs. Louis and Mary Leakey uncovered key fossils in human evolution. Arrive at the lodge for lunch before descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari. This wildlife haven, sustained by year-round water, hosts wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, elephants, and predators like lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. Visit Lake Magadi, known for flamingos, hippos, and water birds. End your day with dinner and an overnight stay at Simba Campsite, full board included.

Day 5 – Ngorongoro crater – Arusha

After breakfast, transfer back to Arusha, arriving in time for lunch. This marks the end of your African safari adventure. The group is encouraged to tip the guide approximately $20 per day. You will then be taken to your hotel, concluding our services.

Optional: If time permits, you may opt for an additional half-day game drive at Ngorongoro Conservation Area at an extra cost.
